Join In the Song
Read Revelation 7:9-12.
Can you hear it? Can you see it? Does the anticipation sometimes overwhelm you?
A multitude—larger than anyone can count (not even those who claim they know how many will be there)! Every tribe, nation, language, people group, and ethnicity, at long last joined in one human race, standing in front of the throne of the one who created them all and loves them most. No more national borders. No more denominational differences. No more squabbling over this verse's interpretation or that doctrinal distinction. No more quibbling over "traditional" or "contemporary" or "blended." One multitude, gathered in, for the final, everlasting worship service, all together joining in the one song.
And it's a song of praise to the one Jesus whom they worshipped.
Some say we will be surprised at who is there, and maybe that's true. Maybe that neighbor you couldn't stand actually was a brother in Christ. Maybe that supervisor who went to a different church actually shared your faith. I know one who won't be surprised, and that's Jesus. For every person who will be there is someone who cried out his name and trusted in his grace.
Today, let's listen for the song and ask God to place within us an anticipation for that day. There's an
old Gospel song that celebrates that day (sing it if you know it):
What a glorious day, indeed! The song below is the song from Revelation set to modern music. Perhaps it will lead you to worship as you long for the day when all join in the song.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
What a glorious day, indeed! The song below is the song from Revelation set to modern music. Perhaps it will lead you to worship as you long for the day when all join in the song.
